Hybu has always been a DJ. As a child, when other boys and girls were playing with Pogs in the school playground, he was scribbling his favorite band’s names on his school paper and creating his own C60 cassette compilations. As an adolescent, he was the guy who brought the music in for early-hour Saturday home parties –you know, the type of fresh sounds that made you bang your oily and greasy teenage head until whiplash set in. It should come as no surprise, then, that as an adult he’s made music his life.

At 25 now, he combines a unique blend of experience and adolescent-like freedom. Raised in the big beat and naughty house eras and fuelled by the best Brit rock, Hybu has developed an original taste for tense pop and fiery tracks that range widely between staggering rock, bumpy bass lines, and stocky electro beats. He demonstrates an imposing mastery of the turntables and the music machines that is playfully tempered with the new energy of one who has both a good musical ear and little fear.

But perhaps no better testament to his musical talent exists than the hundreds of clubbers who have experienced Hybu and know that this young man is a specialist of mixing up the underground and the accessible, the new and the yet to be discovered. After all, Hybu aims to please his party people, and he always does just that: he will make you move your body, open your heart, and sweat on the dance floor, all with a playful smile upon your lips that you will forever savor.

Hybu a presque toujours été DJ, alors qu’on jouait aux pogs dans la cours de récré, il gratouillait ses cahiers du nom de ses groupes préférés et il compilait ses morceaux favoris. A peine pubère, c’est lui qui ramène les disques de cette musique qui chatouille les jambes et fait glousser de plaisirs hédonistes les kids de la génération 90. La musique est devenu le moteur de son existence. Formé à l’école du Big Beat et de la House délurée et délirante, nourri depuis toujours du meilleur rock anglais, il conserve de cette époque le goût des morceaux tendus et dansants, pops et incandescents entre rock renversant et electro trapue.

Aujourd’hui, 25 ans, c’est l’âge parfait, celui où se croise expérience et liberté adolescente, ces moments ou l’on aime encore danser jusqu’au bout de la nuit, draguer tout en écoutant cette musique qui nous est si chère. Depuis le temps, Hybu a aussi réussi à affuter ses talents derrière les machines et les platines. Des centaines de clubbers pourront en témoigner, le jeune garçon est devenu spécialiste dans l’art d’accommoder avec goût musique pointue et accessible sans jamais tomber dans les lieux communs ou l’excessive vulgarité. Cette musique est faite pour faire bouger les fesses, les oreilles ouvertes, la sueur sur le front et un sourire coquin sur les lèvres.
